Is Sushi Ok When Pregnant?

Foods such as sushi and raw fish may be a part of a healthy diet during pregnancy, as long as they are made from fish that has low mercury levels. There is no scientific evidence to support the claim that eating sushi while pregnant increases the risk of pregnancy problems.

According to FoodSafety.gov, any sushi that contains raw or undercooked fish should be avoided. Eating raw or undercooked fish can expose your developing infant to hazardous contaminants such as mercury, germs, and other parasites.
